Historic Woo-Hoo! Moment

My State Just Legalized Gay Marriage!

EDIT: Nov. 5, 2008 - Never mind, they just banned it again with Prop 8.

EDIT: Aug. 4, 2010 - Break out the champagne! A federal judge just ruled that the Prop 8 is unconstitutional!

EDIT: Aug. 16, 2010 - Never mind, a US Court of Appeals just put the ruling overturning Prop 8 on hold.

EDIT: Feb. 7, 2012 - Break out the champagne! Prop 8 was just ruled unconstitutional by the US Court of Appeals and now it's going to the Supreme Court.

EDIT: June 26, 2013 -
Break out the champagne for reals! The Supreme Court just affirmed that Prop 8 does not possess legal standing!

EDIT: June 28, 2013 - The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has lifted the stay on Prop 8 and same-sex marriages have resumed in California!!!

"A coalition of religious and social conservative groups is attempting to put a measure on the November ballot that would enshrine laws banning gay marriage in the state constitution.

The Secretary of State is expected to rule by the end of June whether the sponsors gathered enough signatures to qualify the marriage amendment, similar to ones enacted in 26 other states.

If voters pass the measure in November, it would trump the court's decision"
